On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, Armstrong Elementary School and Highland Park Elementary students laced up their runners and hit the school grounds for the annual AES HPE Cross Country Race!
This event brought together students from every grade in both schools to celebrate movement, endurance, and community spirit. The weather was optimal, the kids were smiling, and the race course was alive with cheering, high-fives, and lots of determined little footsteps.
The cross country route wound its way around the AES fields and forested areas, looping through play zones and grassy stretches. Students navigated hills, corners, and cheering sections—plus one adorable obstacle: a family of ducks!
A mother duck and her ducklings have taken up temporary residence in the Big Adventures area, and the race course was adjusted to give them their space.
Thank you to our team
A big shoutout to our AES and HPE staff and parent volunteers who helped mark the course and cheer from the sidelines. And another shoutout to all the students who ran their hearts out (and ducked the ducks!).
We’re so proud of every runner who crossed the finish line with grit, smiles, or a sweaty high-five.
Until next year!
