What runners should wear and bring
All runners need appropriate clothing and footwear for this event. This includes running shoes, a full-length T-shirt, and shorts or leggings. Students also need to be ready for all weather conditions.
Please send students with a labeled sports bag or backpack that can hold all of their labeled personal items. A healthy lunch and a filled water bottle are strongly recommended. Students should also bring sun block and a hat.
Runners will be provided with an AES pinnie to wear for the event.
Race distances
- Kindergarten: 500 m, guided by marshals
- Grade 1 and 2: 1.5 km, Blue Course
- Grade 3 and 4: 2.0 km, Orange Course
- Grade 5 and 6: 3.2 km, Yellow Course
What happens at the event
When families, coaches, and runners arrive at the event, they should meet at the AES tent, which will be marked by the school banner.
At the finish line, runners will receive a finish ticket. After receiving their ticket, they must report directly to the AES score table. There, they will hand the finish ticket to the scorer and receive a participation ribbon.
Before a family leaves the event with their child or children, the family member must connect with an AES coach at the tent and sign the child or children out. There will be more than 1,000 participants at the event, so this step is important for student safety and accountability.
Important reminder
Please return the permission form by Wednesday, April 22.
The Little Mountain Stomp is a fun school tradition, and we are looking forward to a great day of running, cheering, and school spirit. Remember, we run for fun 🙂
