Call to Order, Welcome, and Acknowledgement

Meeting called to order at 5:37 PM PST.

We respectfully acknowledge that we are grateful to live, work, and play within the beautiful ancestral, traditional, and unceded territory of the Syilx Okanagan people, Secwepemc Nation and acknowledge the Métis people who reside here.

Treasurer’s Report

Bank account balances as of September 14th 2025:

  • Operating account: $18,281.41
  • Gaming account: $225.00

Note: Currently awaiting anticipated approval for gaming grant ($20/student x 268). BC Gaming Grant needs to update the assigned person now that Tammy has stepped down as treasurer.

New Business

Expected Spending for 2025/26 School Year

Breakdown of expected spending for the 2025/26 school year (re-occurring costs and new costs):

  • Teacher & LRT allowance $2,800
  • Grade 5 hoodies & grad food $3,000
  • Babysitter for meeting $500 ($40 each time)
  • Welcome back BBQ & Pancake Breakfast $800
  • PAC expenses $250
  • Munchalunch registration $336
  • Bussing $3,600
  • Stamps for school wide write $300
  • Chess Club Pizza $300
  • Educational workshops $800
  • One to one reading pizza $200
  • Kindergarten Welcome food $70
  • Kindergarten Grad cake $200
  • Kindergarten Grad photos $50
  • Fun Day; swim & ice cream $800
  • Willing to Ninja $3,000
  • Extra Yearbooks $125
  • Teacher Thank you $250
  • Swimming Lessons $800
  • Skate Sharpening $50

Approval of Expected Spending

Motion: Chloe Hale motioned to spend $21,231 on this year’s anticipated costs.

All in favor. Motion passed.

Additional Business

Teacher Allowance: Megan will get the current balances from each division to confirm money is being spent.

Our Welcome Back BBQ: $1,194 (hot dogs & buns) will be covered by the SD83 Feast Grant. The remaining cost of $223.17 (chips, forks, plates) will be covered by the PAC budget.

New spending ideas and goal to save up for:

  • Classroom headphones
  • Rewards for the monthly math word challenge

Megan has been told that teachers and staff are welcome to put forward their requests throughout the year to be discussed by PAC.
