AES kicked off the school year with smiles, sunshine, and community at our Welcome Back BBQ on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
Families had the chance to meet their children’s teachers from 5:00 to 5:30, sharing introductions and catching up before heading outside for the fun.
Behind the school, the AES PAC hosted a huge BBQ, with parents cooking up hundreds of free hot dogs. Thank you to Sunbelt Rentals Armstrong for providing the BBQ grill for us! There were also chips and a potluck where families brought salads, snacks, and desserts to share. Everyone spread out on blankets and lawn chairs, enjoying the sunshine, good food, and great company.
Kids had a blast on the playground and exploring the school garden, while parents caught up with friends and neighbors. It was the perfect mix of community, relaxation, and fun.
We were thrilled to welcome our new principal, Megan Weir, to AES. The day was full of laughter, happy chatter, and excellent behaviour from everyone.
Thank you to all the families and volunteers who made this event possible. It was a wonderful way to start the school year and celebrate the AES community!
