The Armstrong Elementary School PAC runs a rotating hot lunch program throughout the school year to provide fun and convenient lunch options for students, to help parents with a “day off” from preparing a main course for their child’s lunch, and as a fundraiser for student activities at AES.
How to order hot lunch for your child

Parents can order ahead and pay online. Each term, a new lunch schedule is published with a variety of meal options from local vendors.
Types of hot lunch days at AES
Hot lunch days include free soup days, free milk days, paid hot dog days, and paid vendor lunch days (like pizza day). Parents must order ahead using Munch-a-Lunch for all hot lunch days except soup days.
Soup Day (Free, No Pre-Order)
Thanks to the Shuswap Food Action Society, students enjoy free, healthy soup on Mondays throughout the year. On Soup Day, teachers place bowls outside the classroom and PAC volunteers deliver soup to every class. Parents do not need to order soup, but please send a thermos or travel-friendly bowl with your student on Mondays.
Vendor Days (Paid, Requires Pre-Order)
These lunches are pre-ordered through Munch-a-Lunch and delivered to students at school, typically on select Tuesdays. Our current vendors include:
Hot Dog Days (Paid, Requires Pre-Order)
These are PAC-run hot lunch days, usually on Fridays. Volunteers prepare and serve hot dogs, which are ordered in advance through Munch-a-Lunch.
Milk Days (Free, Requires Pre-Order)
Free Milk Days are offered every other week at Armstrong Elementary. The milk is generously donated by a local business that wishes to remain anonymous. While the AES PAC coordinates the program, we do not fund it. This wonderful initiative is fully sponsored by our wonderful local community!
Milk is delivered through Askew’s Foods and distributed by PAC volunteers. Parents can pre-order either 2% white milk or chocolate milk using the Munch-a-Lunch online ordering system.
Supporting our students
All proceeds from paid hot lunch days go directly into PAC-funded initiatives like school field trips, literacy events, arts programs, the school garden, and classroom resources. Every lunch you order helps support AES students!
